Not all stains are treated the same. Different cleaners use different “science” to remove dirt.
- All-Purpose Cleaners (Multipurpose):
- Characteristics: pH-neutral or slightly alkaline. They are safe for most hard surfaces.
- Use Case: Countertops, walls, and floor spills.
- Degreasers (Alkaline Cleaners):
- Characteristics: High pH levels to break down fats, oils, and proteins.
- Use Case: Kitchen stove-tops, ovens, and industrial machinery.
- Abrasive Cleaners:
- Characteristics: Contain small particles (like silica) or physical tools (like steel wool) to “scour” off dirt.
- Use Case: Burnt pots and pans, or heavy grime on bathroom tiles.
- Acidic Cleaners (Descalers):
- Characteristics: Low pH levels. They react with minerals.
- Use Case: Removing “hard water” stains, limescale, and rust in toilets or sinks.
